Former England international Darren Bent has been one of many to praise the West Hm United defence as they continue their four-match run of clean sheets.
Since their 5-0 loss to Manchester City on the opening day of the season, West Ham have conceded just two goals.
Bent was concerned about the Hammers’ back line after that heavy defeat but since then they have only conceded to Brighton and Watford.
The former Tottenham Hotspur man told Football Insider:
It’s shocked me, I thought no way, that’s going to be their downfall, at the back. I thought that was where they were going to struggle. It seems since the attackers have stepped up to play, the defenders have gone: ‘We can’t let them down, let’s concentrate on our job.’
You’ve got teams where you’re thinking (as a striker): ‘If I score, we might still concede,’ but for them at the minute, it looks like the back four have gone: ‘These lot are doing their job at the other end of the pitch, we need to do ours.’ They’re defending really, really well so I take my hat off to them.

The question is, where is West Ham’s weakness now?
Well, the Hammers are currently on a four-match winning run in all competitions and are looking like a very good team.
New signing Sebastien Haller has already scored three goals this year and behind him, Andriy Yarmolenko, Manuel Lanzini and Felipe Anderson are proving to be a good partnership.
In the defensive midfield position, academy products Mark Noble and Declan Rice are showing great ability too.
So, you look at the team at the moment and it is hard to find a position where they could improve.
