West Ham continue their Premier League campaign by returning to the London Stadium to host Manchester United on Sunday.
Hammers fans will have the memorable 3-1 victory of last season still fresh in their memories and will be hoping for a repeat of both the performance and score line.
Level on points with United, West Ham could find that a result against the Red Devils would separate them from the chasing pack of several teams on seven and eight points in the league.
United should see a good test of how Pellegrini’s men are up for the challenge against strong opposition, following the 5-0 massacre on the opening day against fellow Manchester club City.
With Issa Diop publicly saying the club are targeting a potential European spot this season, this match-up will be good to see if West Ham can live up to these targets.
The last outing saw a dismal performance away at Villa, where Masuaku’s unfortunate red card meant the Hammer’s had to settle for a point, albeit a decent point away from home with 10 men.
Pellegrini will be looking to rectify that result on Monday night with something a bit more positive on Sunday.
Here is the starting XI I believe Manuel Pellegrini will select for the game against Manchester United.
