Mark Lawrenson has predicted West Ham United will defeat Manchester United at the London Stadium again this weekend, but supporters must refrain from getting too complacent.
The Hammers host Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side on Sunday in what is an eagerly-anticipated clash, with both teams currently on eight points after five Premier League games.
Speaking in his weekly predictions, cited by Forever West Ham, Lawrenson revealed he isn’t yet convinced by United and fancies Manuel Pellegrini’s men to claim the three points.
I think the Hammers are an improving team, and I am expecting them to have a real go at Manchester United, who are yet to convince me with their performances this season.
I can’t remember a game where they have impressed me over the 90 minutes – even in their 4-0 win over Chelsea on the opening weekend, the scoreline did not tell the full story. Prediction: 2-1.

Many West Ham fans are rightly going into the match full of confidence, but it seems to be easily forgettable that United have plenty of players who can cause a lot of damage.
Solskjaer has already revealed key names such as Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial are doubts, but if the hosts aren’t switched on there could very easily be a surprise amongst the fanbase on the cards.
You’d imagine there’ll be plenty of supporters who would take a draw from this one to extend the ever-growing unbeaten run at the start of this season, but a win is still certainly there for the taking.
