Tottenham appear to be stepping up their interest in Fenerbahce striker and West Ham target Vedat Muriqi.
According to NTV, as cited on Sport Witness, Tottenham had scouts present to watch the striker against Alanyaspor.
Interestingly, one of the channel’s TV pundits claimed the presence the Premier League side was putting the striker off, so do the Hammers really need to pursue a deal?
Read West Ham verdict
West Ham spent big to rejuvenate their backline over the summer and they have done just that through the signings of Sebastien Haller and Albian Ajeti.
Fans haven’t been afforded the opportunities to see too much of the latter since his arrival, but Haller has been an instant hit.
The Frenchman has started the season brilliantly after moving from the Bundesliga and the early signs suggest he has solved the club’s striker issues.
With Ajeti playing the back-up role, it’s unclear how much game time would be available for Muriqi.
Given that he would be a back-up to Harry Kane at Tottenham, game time is probably more likely at the London Stadium, but even then, that doesn’t necessarily mean there is going to be loads of it.
West Ham appear to have themselves covered in this department, so a move to sign Muriqi doesn’t quite add up.
