West Ham entertain Norwich City this weekend. The Hammers successfully dispatched of lower league Newport County with a 2-0 over the Exiles.
Norwich, on the other hand, slumped to a 1-0 defeat at Crawley Town. Even though it has been a tale of two results this week, the Premier League is where these teams will be aiming to peak in performance and secure the three points.
Norwich have shown no fear since their promotion to the Premier League. Scoring away at Anfield and recording a 3-0 over Newcastle shows that they have the firepower to remain in this league.
It has ultimately been their defence, however, that has seen them leak goals. Whilst their full-backs are imperative to their attacking prowess, they look at sea when teams start to pile on the pressure.
West Ham have a similar issue, with their defence their weak point. The introduction of Angelo Ogbonna at Brighton was met with scepticism but has since shown his value, putting in a solid performance away at Watford.
West Ham’s firepower, on paper, dwarfs what Norwich will offer on Saturday.
Despite an injury to top performer Michail Antonio, they will be expected to play a midfield trio of Manuel Lanzini, Felipe Anderson and Andriy Yarmolenko in behind the brace hero Sebastian Haller.
This will be a game littered with goals and defensive areas so let’s see where the game will be won, lost or drawn.
