Sebastien Haller has thanked West Ham United fans for their support in Newport, despite not featuring in Tuesday evening’s 2-0 win.
The Hammers comfortably progressed thanks to maiden goals from midfield duo Jack Wilshere and Pablo Fornals as Haller watched on from the bench.
Many were surprised to see the Frenchman in the squad ahead of Saturday’s big home game against Norwich City, but lauded him on social media after he took time to pay tribute to the travelling support in Wales:

READ WEST HAM’S VERDICT
Pellegrini was correct in snubbing him at Rodney Park in favour of handing fellow new frontman Albian Ajeti his debut.
I know it’s early doors but Haller could genuinely become one of the greatest strikers in West Ham history, depending on how long he stays around for.
There is always that fear of star players moving onto bigger and better things, especially with the whole Dimitri Payet debacle, but Haller seems intent on making an impact for the Hammers.
After two goals in two starts, he’ll be hungry to add to his goal tally at the London Stadium this weekend to head into the international break in style.
