Plenty of West Ham United fans have been left devastated at speculation suggesting Michail Antonio will require surgery on a ‘serious hamstring tear’.
The 29-year-old forward dramatically collapsed after being sent through on goal in the seventh minute of Tuesday’s win at Newport County and it was immediately clear he couldn’t continue.
Antonio is one of Manuel Pellegrini’s strongest attacking options so it comes as a huge blow, with many fans fearing he could be out of action for months:

Antonio may not be a cemented starter week-in-week-out considering the attacking firepower Manuel Pellegrini currently has at his disposal, but he’s a valuable asset to the squad.
He has one of the biggest personalities on and off the pitch and provides a huge threat off the bench with his pace and eye for goal.
Hopefully it’s not as bad as initially feared, otherwise, West Ham may have to cancel plans to send Nathan Holland out on loan and give him a chance to shine.
