Combined XI: Watford (A)

This week’s edition of our Read West Ham combined XI looks at London neighbours Watford ahead of Saturday’s clash.

West Ham United and Watford can boast similarities in recent times. Both teams have had poor starts to the season, Watford can’t score and West Ham can’t stop conceding.

Interestingly enough, West Ham and Watford’s head-to-head record since the Hornets came back into the Premier League has been nearly parallel.

Watford have won four of the eight meetings, West Ham have won three of them and both sides have shared the points just once since 2015.

So, two teams that are fairly similar geographically, in their typical league position, in their ambitions, and in recent meetings.

But how do they fare in a combined starting XI? Will such similarities reflect in the starting XI squad? Or will one team dominate the lineup?

This is my opinion of a combined West Ham and Watford starting XI.
