As a new segment for this season, we shall be creating a combined XI for West Ham United and their opponents in the coming 2019/20 season.
This is to look at how West Ham compare to their opponents and to see the progress that Pellegrini is making whilst building his new-look West Ham.
At the turn of the reverse fixtures, we shall see if these squads change or stay the same, depending on the seasons that the players are having.
The starting XI will be based around Pellegrini’s 4-1-4-1 formation, and won’t be based on best players for a formation or system, just the best player in each position.
This week, we start off against Manchester City, one of the toughest combined XIs this season, and one where realistically it is hard to see how a squad could be ‘combined’.
Nonetheless, here is my combined XI between West Ham United and Manchester City.
