The summer transfer is over now, it’s in the past. However, there’s still plenty of excitement around the fan base about West Ham United’s new young stars going into this weekend’s Premier League opener.
As the squad prepare to face champions Manchester City at the London Stadium tomorrow, West Ham have shared training pictures with fans and it’s fair to say Manuel Pellegrini has some great prospects at his disposal.

New additions Goncalo Cardoso, Pablo Fornals and Albian Ajeti are the stars pictured, along with teen fan favourite Declan Rice all getting ready to host Pep Guardiola’s champions.
Although fans wanted to see a new midfield addition before yesterday’s deadline, the squad is looking stronger than it has in a long time ahead of the 2019-20 season and the club is being praised for it’s business.

Read West Ham’s verdict
The 2019 summer transfer window has been a revolutionary one for West Ham in an attacking sense. Realistically, the club’s options going forward could be set for the next few seasons if the players develop together.
Defensive depth may be the underlying issue, but if Pellegrini’s side can avoid injuries stacking on top of each other the team fielded out every week will be looking very strong.
Tomorrow’s performance against one of the toughest tests the Hammers will face this term should give an indication of where they’re at, but it shouldn’t be decisive in opinions towards the club’s chances of a successful year.
