West Ham have sold young defender Reece Oxford to Augsburg on a permanent transfer for an undisclosed fee, and fan reactions don’t show too much positivity.
The versatile centre-back has barely played for the Hammers since bursting onto the scene in August 2015, where he won Man of the Match in his full Premier League debut, starting and playing 79 minutes against Arsenal.
Since then, the Oxford saga has raged on for years, with the 20-year old barely playing while constantly seeking a move to Germany, according to reports.
Now with the defender having finally made the move, joining the club he spent the last six months on loan with, West Ham fans have had some things to say.

There is a degree of frustration within the West Ham fanbase regarding the way in which the Hammers’ board has handled outgoings this summer, with one large point of contention being the club’s squad depth.
The Hammers squad is currently quite thin, and it is a surprise that the club are sanctioning more sales, presumably for small transfer fees, when no further incomings are clearly on the horizon.
West Ham don’t have much money left to strengthen with, if reports are to be believed, and fans are concerned that this would leave the club in a difficult position.
Other fans also expressed their disappointment in having seen Oxford’s great potential being wasted at the London Stadium, with the England youth international having seemed so promising a few years ago.
