West Ham United are still being linked with a move to sign Maxime Gonalons from AS Roma.
The Hammers were touted as potential suitors for the Frenchman earlier in the summer transfer window, and with just over two weeks remaining for Premier League clubs, they are understood to be in the race for his signature.
According to claims from Corriere dello Sport, as translated in a report from Sport Witness, Roma are willing to let Gonalons depart ahead of next season as he is not in the plans of new manager Paulo Fonseca.

West Ham have been active in the transfer market already this summer, with Pablo Fornals and Sebastien Haller their most notable arrivals, but it seems they are not yet finished.
Manuel Pellegrini has not yet added a naturally defensive player to his squad, and it looks Gonalons could be an option.
The 30-year-old was signed for just £4.5 million by Roma, and West Ham appear intent on exploring the possibility of signing him on the cheap, having ‘enquired’ about a deal.
