It looks like West Ham have missed out on a deal to sign Celta Vigo forward Maxi Gomez, who looks set to move to Valencia.
As such, according to a report from Darren Lewis of The Mirror, the Hammers will make a fresh offer for West Brom’s Salomon Rondon.
Rondon, who spent last season on loan at Newcastle, is also a target for the Magpies and Wolves, but so far, West Ham are the only team to have made an official offer.

The Hammers reportedly made a bid of £10m plus two fringe players to Albion, but that was rejected. However, after missing out on Gomez, it looks like they are set to make an improved offer for the Venezuelan international.
Having let Andy Carroll leave on a free transfer and with Marko Arnautovic looking set to move to China, Manuel Pellegrini wants to bring in at least one new striker and it looks like Rondon is now the favourite to fill the hole in the West Ham squad.
