Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez is Manuel Pellegrini’s number one transfer target for West Ham United this summer, according to a report from Calciomercato.
The Hammers appear to be on the lookout for a new forward ahead of next season, and it seems as though they have identified the Uruguay international as their priority signing.
West Ham have already been hard at work in the summer transfer window. They recruited experienced goalkeeping duo Roberto and David Martin before wrapping up the signing of promising Villarreal midfield Pablo Fornals.

Now, Pellegrini appears to be turning his attention to reinforcing his attacking options, with Gomez the man in question.
The promising striker endured a difficult season in Spain. Celta Vigo were fortunate to avoid relegation as Iago Aspas’s return inspired an upturn in form, ensuring that they retained their La Liga status.
Nevertheless, Gomez is held in high esteem at Abanca-Balaidos, and West Ham are likely to be faced with a battle to recruit him this summer.
