According to Sky Sports, West Ham have told both Manchester United and Manchester City that England international Declan Rice is not for sale.
Both teams are said to have made initial inquiries to sign the player, but West Ham have stood firm.
The 20-year-old was sensational for West Ham last season, his ability to disrupt play was crucial to the Hammers and his performances clearly did not go unnoticed.
Earlier this year the 20-year-old pledged his alliances to England, a move that angered Irish supporters. Rice wouldn’t mind though as a month later he was handed his England debut in a Euro 2020 qualification match against the Czech Republic at Wembley.
Rice appeared 34 times in the league for the Hammers last season, scoring twice.
Manuel Pellegrini will be eager to keep his young star at the club, speaking back in March to the Guardian, the Chilean was clear in how highly he rates the player.
He’s a complete player. That is a player who, for me, is the best English holding midfielder.
