West Ham have made a £20m bid to Barcelona for midfielder Andre Gomes, who spent last season on loan with Everton, as per a report from Jacob Steinberg of The Guardian.
The Hammers have already seen an £18m bid rejected by the Spanish champions as they look to snatch Gomes from under the noses of Everton, but they’ve maintained their interest and have made a new proposal.

However, Steinberg reports that West Ham will likely see this new bid rejected too as Barcelona are looking to receive around £25m for the Portuguese international.
Everton are keen to keep Gomes on a permanent deal after his successful season with Marco Silva’s side, whilst Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with a move for the 25-year-old.
West Ham spent a lot of money last summer and are not expected to be as busy during this transfer window but it’s clear that Gomes is a key target for the club.
