Jack Wilshere can be a crucial player for West Ham United next season, according to ex-Irons midfielder Matt Taylor.
The England international arrived at the London Stadium last summer after his contract at Arsenal reached its expiry date.
West Ham fended off competition from their fellow Premier League counterparts to lure Wilshere to the club, but he failed to convince during his maiden campaign.
As has been the case for the majority of the midfielder’s playing career, he saw his season plagued with injuries, which restricted him from featuring on a regular basis under Manuel Pellegrini.
Wilshere returned to fitness towards the latter stages of the campaign, and despite his shortcomings, he has been tipped for big things in 2019/20.

Matt Taylor, speaking exclusively to 888sport, said:
Jack can still have a huge impact. He’s an all-out combative midfielder. He likes to put his foot in and he likes to tackle and sometimes that can be to the detriment of himself because he gets himself injured.
Jack is an extremely talented footballer and if West Ham can get him out on the pitch he will give a huge amount to them being successful next season.
When he was younger there were certain times when he took his eye off the ball but he’s very professional now, a family man, and he’s at a club where they value him. I think, should he stay fit, he has a huge part to play next season.
