West Ham’s attempts to sign Aaron Mooy could have just stepped up after Huddersfield Town dramatically cut their asking price for the player.
The Terriers signed Mooy from Manchester City for what was a club record fee of £8 million in June 2017 after a successful loan spell.
Mooy established himself as the star player in the Huddersfield line-up and a host of clubs, including the Hammers, are said to be interested in recruiting him following the West Yorkshire side’s relegation to the Championship.
And according to Australian outlet The World Game, cited by This Is Futbol, Huddersfield had been hoping to receive around £41million for the Australian international, but have now decided to slash their asking price to just £14.8million.

The news comes as a boost to West Ham, who could now secure one of their transfer targets for a hugely discounted price.
The 28-year-old would provide a high-quality midfield option for Manuel Pellegrini, who may be in need of reinforcements with Pedro Obiang looking to leave, Declan Rice subject to interest from elsewhere, question marks over Jack Wilshere’s fitness and Samir Nasri released.
Other teams rumoured to be interested include Leicester, Newcastle, Southampton, Watford and Wolves.
