Manchester City have been keeping tabs on West Ham United’s Declan Rice for over a year, but according to reports, their local rivals Manchester United are set to swoop and beat any offer that City make for the midfielder.
Rice, who made his England debut during the UEFA European Championships Group A qualifying match against the Czech Republic last month, is reportedly on the radar of plenty of clubs both in England and on the continent.
Having recently signed a new deal at the London Stadium, Rice’s future ultimately lies in West Ham’s hands but should they decide to cash in on the 20-year-old, then there will not be a shortage of interested clubs, which should drive his price up.

West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini has even admitted his club would listen to major offers for Rice, saying:
There are big teams who decide to pay an important amount of money: sure, if it is a good deal for the club and the player and improves his career then we can do it.
Man United are looking to build a squad that can compete for the league title under new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and they reportedly see Rice as a player they can bring in and build around as they look to get back to battling for the Premier League crown once again.
