West Ham are considering a loan move for Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi, according to a report from Sky Sports.
The Belgian international has spent the first half of this season on loan with Valencia but he’s found game time hard to come by and as such, he could cut short that deal and secure a loan move elsewhere?
The Hammers are looking to secure a deal to sign striker Maxi Gomez from Celta Vigo, but the plan is for him to stay in Spain for the remainder of the season before moving to London in the summer.
Therefore a loan move for Batshuayi could make sense and allow West Ham the chance to bring in a forward to fill a hole in the squad until the Uruguayan arrives.
Chelsea’s would prefer to sell Batshuayi on a permanent deal rather than sending him out on another loan, but with a valuation of around £35m, it’s unlikely that the Belgian will be sold today.
