West Ham have confirmed the signing of former Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri.
The club tweeted to confirm the Frenchman’s arrival, with the midfielder signing a short-term contract as a free agent.
After a prolonged period out of the game, Nasri has been training with the Hammers in a bid to earn a contract.
West Ham have confirmed his current deal will run until the end of the season, with the option to extend his stay.
Nasri is a player that Manuel Pellegrini knows well from their time at Manchester City.
With Manuel Lanzini still sidelined, Nasri’s arrival gives the Hammers extra options in the final third until the Argentine returns to full fitness.
The Frenchman will be out to prove a point on his return to the Premier League and will be eager to show he is fit and ready after going over a year without playing competitively.
