West Ham forward Marko Arnautovic has been battling through for his side, despite an on-going knee problem and general illness, according Austrian outlet Salzburger Nachrichten and Sport Witness.
Arnautovic has been subject of much transfer debate in recent weeks, currently leading the line as the Hammers’ top goalscorer and impact player. Offering three goals and one assist in six league games, the 29-year-old has helped to place United away from the drop zone of late.

Importantly, it appears that he has been making contributions to club and country, most recently in the latter’s 0-0 draw versus Bosnia & Herzegovina, while injured through the apparent use of medical injections.
Arnautovic said:
I cannot say if I’ll get an injection on Thursday (before the Austria match),
Arnautovic also remarked that, while some players opt to rest upon injuries and ‘do nothing for a week’, he finds that tough, hence the continued on-field appearances.
Of course there are people who say they should spare themselves…, but it’s just difficult.
As if this was not frustrating enough for the player and his management staff alike, the Austrian boss Franco Foda states that the attacker is fighting illness while on national team duty.
The manager said:
One day ago he was still in bed because he was broken. It just speaks for him that he’s always ready to give everything to the country,
While his dedication to football cannot be questioned, West Ham supporters must hope that he does indeed take time to rest ahead of their huge match against Manchester City post-international break.
