Since arriving in the summer, Issa Diop has captured two things; primarily, the interest of a variety of European clubs, but also the hearts of West Ham fans.
The Frenchman joined the Irons from Toulouse for a fee of £20 million, and has immediately cemented a reputation in the first team at the London Stadium.
With 13 appearances in all competitions, Diop has made an impression on the Premier League in the early-going. The 21-year-old has looked calm and composed, relatively undaunted with what teams are trying to throw at him.

Diop has taken to the local support, too.
Speaking to Foot Mercato, Diop said:
The atmosphere is incredible. Every weekend, the stadiums are full. In addition at West Ham, we are lucky to have very good supporters. They are the best fans in England. So that’s why the atmosphere is very good there.
On the topic of manager Manuel Pellegrini, Diop went on to say:
We have a very good relationship. It’s a relationship of coach to player. When I do bad things, he tells me. And when it’s good, he does the same. The goal is for me to make progress.
Everything is going very well. I adapt, I learn English (laughs). But it’s okay, fortunately I went to school. Joking aside, my adaptation went very well. Everyone welcomed me.
