West Ham are said to be closing in on a deal to sign Antonio Sanabria from Real Betis, according to reports in Spain.
As cited on Calciomercato, the player is believed to be close to joining the Hammers in a deal worth around €22.5 million.
Manuel Pellegrini has been keen to add goals to his squad before Thursday’s deadline, with the Irons also being linked with Lucas Perez and Moussa Marega.
Sanabria’s former side Roma are expected receive half of the transfer fee following a clause inserted into the deal to take him to La Liga.
The Paraguayan, who scored eight league goals last season, was once a highly thought of striker in Italy, but he has struggled with injuries recently, including a long-term knee injury.
Despite that, he is still highly rated and West Ham will be hoping that they can bring the best out of him in London.
