West Ham could complete the signing of Marlon from Barcelona as early as next week, according to reports in Spain.
Mundo Deportivo claims that Barcelona are hoping to finalise deals that will see several fringe players leave the club in July.
July 1 marks the start of the new financial year, which often sparks a number of deals in a transfer window.
West Ham have been heavily linked with a move for Marlon, but the deal has not progressed as quickly as many would have expected.

There was also thought to be interest from another unnamed Premier League side. Leicester have previously been credited with an interest in the player who impressed on loan at Nice last season.
Marlon could become the latest defensive signing to join West Ham this summer, following Ryan Fredericks, Issa Diop and Lukasz Fabianski through the doors at the London Stadium.
The likes of Munir, Aleix Vidal and Rafinha are all expected to follow Marlon out of the Nou Camp this summer.
