Injury-afflicted winger Michail Antonio is reportedly set to leave West Ham this summer, with Football London claiming the club are prepared to listen to offers for the 28-year-old.
With London rivals Crystal Palace the alleged suitors for the wide-man’s services, it appears the Hammers wouldn’t mind a bidding war for the Englishman’s signature.
Ailments have limited Antonio to just 21 fleeting appearances this season, with three goals and an assist coming in those matches.
Fans will fondly remember Antonio’s breakout season in the 2016/17 campaign, where his strong performances earned him an end of year England call-up, where he was an unused substitute against Slovakia.
Palace manager Roy Hodgson evidently believes a fit and healthy Antonio is more than capable of returning to those heights, and seems ready to part with a sum of his summer transfer pot to bring the Londoner to Selhurst Park.
Antonio would form a strike partnership with Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend should he make the cross-capital switch, and new manager Manuel Pellegrini may opt to deny his rivals the chance to complete an enticing front three.
Conversely, if Pellegrini is happy and confident with West Ham’s transfer targets, he may be deemed surplus to requirements.
