Rafa Benitez has been named the top target to fill West Ham’s vacant manager role.
David Moyes left the Hammers as his short-term deal was not renewed and now they continue their look for a new boss.
The Spaniard has done a terrific job at Newcastle this season in their return to the top flight so it is no wonder the ex-Liverpool boss is in high demand.
According to The Mirror, Benitez is the first choice due to his good relationship with the club as he nearly took on the Hammers job back in 2015, until he decided to take over at Real Madrid instead.
West Ham are set to allow their new boss to use a big amount of money for transfers this summer, a decision that could sway Benitez towards the London Stadium as Newcastle owner, Mike Ashley is set to give him limited funds once again.
If their pursue on Benitez doesn’t work out then they will head back to their target list which has Marco Silva, Manuel Pellegrini and Paulo Fonseca.
