Portuguese newspaper A Bola, as translated by Sport Witness, claim that West Ham are preparing a €30m offer for Sporting’s Rodrigo Battaglia.
The Hammers are apparentl willing to bid the Argentine’s release clause as he is a player they would like to bring in, as long as Premier League safety is secured.

West Brom also had an interest in Battaglia in the last January transfer window, where it is rumoured that they offered €20m for him. However, with relegation looking inevitable for the Baggies, there is no chance they’ll be in the market for the midfielder.
West Ham’s Premier League future as thier survival is not yet guaranteed. It would appear that the West Ham board won’t look to give David Moyes’s a new contract until the season is finished and they know exacly which division they’ll be playing in but if they are in the top flight, Moyes will be given funds to spend and Battaglia is one player he could look to sign.
