West Ham failed spectacularly to recruit Anderlecht holding midfielder Leander Dendoncker during the January transfer window but the Mirror claim that the club are ready to go back in for him once the summer window opens.
The club supposedly failed with a bid to sign Dendoncker late in the January window, offering just £4.4m as an upfront payment and a further £8.8m in two instalments, falling well short of Anderlecht’s £20m valuation.
Dendoncker was keen on a move to the Premier League and West Ham who are desperate for a defensive midfielder to screen the back line will make a second attempt to recruit the 22-year-old.

While West Ham’s manager beyond this season isn’t set in stone just yet, David Moyes has confirmed the club are undergoing a structural reform of their player recruitment and have begun making checks of potential summer additions.
West Ham failed with moves for Stoke’s Joe Allen, Norwich starlet James Maddison, Fulham’s Tom Cairney and Bournemouth’s Harry Arter during last month’s transfer window also.
