West Ham have been under scrutiny mainly from their fans for their lack of transfer activity during the January window but that’s not to say they club didn’t try and bring in some fresh faces.
Preston striker Jordan Hugill was signed in a £9m deal from Preston on deadline day, but Moyes has told the media that the Hammers were working on up to three more deals the same day, none of which materialised.

Speaking about his side’s transfer activity, Moyes confirms the club would have liked one more player but they’re happy with their business.
We would have liked one more player. We were trying up to the last minute. We tried for quite a few players, but we were happy from what we saw from Joao Mario and we also got Jordan, who gives us a different type of centre forward.
We’re happy enough. If we’d got one more, it would have made it right, but two was OK. We have enough cover if we get players back.
Anderlecht holding midfielder Leander Dendoncker was a top target for West Ham throughout the window and they did make a late bid for him on deadline day but the Belgian side deemed it too low to accept this late in proceedings.

Defensive midfielder was an area West Ham wanted to strengthen in and Lille captain Ibrahim Amadou was another West Ham launched a bid for but failed to sign, with Moyes confirming he was on our radar.
We had interest in Dendonker and Amadou and would have been happy with one, but for whatever reason they didn’t come off.
Moyes has also passionately denied that the club were reluctant to sign any more Africans this month following allegations made against Head of Recruitment Tony Henry, stating that the club were in for two African players on deadline day – Amadou and Leicester striker Islam Slimani, who rejected the Hammers to sign for Newcastle on loan.
We were in for Slimani, but he chose to go to Newcastle. We were trying to sign two African players on deadline day. We have an open transfer policy here. We sign good, quality players and it doesn’t matter where they are from.
