Most of West Ham’s deadline day exploits were spent funnelling out youth players on loan to get them first-team football.
Given West Ham’s injury crisis at the moment, Toni Martinez has been more involved in the first-team squad in recent weeks but he’s been sent out on loan back to Spain with Real Valladolid for the rest of the season.

Martinez has been an unused sub six times in the Premier League and made his first three appearances for West Ham in the FA Cup in January but David Moyes didn’t see a place for the young Spaniard in his squad.

West Ham’s sole deadline day signing was the £9m acquisition of Jordan Hugill from Preston to add competition for places in attack after the sales of Diafra Sakho and Andre Ayew.
