West Ham aren’t looking to part ways with any of their first-team players this month but James Collins’ long-term future at the club remains uncertain.
The veteran centre-back has spent nearly 10 years at the club across two spells and is only under contract until the end of the season with no indication that the Hammers are looking to hand him an extension.

Collins is eager to finish his career at the club and wants to play regular football but at the moment he’s not favoured by David Moyes in this back three system he has employed, not to mention he’s struggling with injuries fairly frequently given his advancing age.
At an impasse in his career, Collins must decide on his next step if there isn’t a future beyond this season at West Ham and fellow Premier League side Brighton are ready to make a £2m bid to sign the former Wales international, Ken Dyer of the London Evening Standard notes.
Winston Reid and Jose Fonte have both had their injury struggles this season, with the latter still sidelined with a long-term foot problem, and now is not the time to lose a player of Collins’ experience but should he wish to further his playing career elsewhere, it will be hard for the club to stand in his way.
