West Ham have missed the pace and enthusiasm that Michail Antonio brings to the side in recent weeks but his spell on the sideline could be over relatively soon.
The 27-year-old spoke before last night’s FA Cup third round replay against Shrewsbury and confirmed that he hopes to return to action in two weeks time after initially being diagnosed with a six-week absence.

Antonio has battled through injuries this season, notably a rib issue in November and a groin injury which has kept him out since Christmas, but the winger is optimistic about his return.

Not far away now. Things are going well. At the beginning they said roughly six weeks, if things went well, and things are going well. So, Hopefully two more weeks to go and I will be back.
Last season’s top scorer with nine Premier League goals has managed just one in 15 appearances so far this term and has only completed the 90 minutes six times in the league, not doing so since October which illustrates his fitness struggles.
Antonio has been linked with a move for Everton and a reunion with Sam Allardyce but there is no desire to part ways with the attacker this month.
