According to HITC, West Ham are looking to sign Newcastle’s Christian Atsu this winter after failing to sign The Magpies’ midfielder, Jonjo Shelvey.
West Ham have seemed keen on many Newcastle players this January, with the likes of Shelvey and Aleksandar Mitrovic being linked with a move to The Hammers, and now Atsu is a new name on the wanted list.

After Newcastle came to the London Stadium in December, to put up a good fight in a 3-2 win for The Magpies, the links of players going from Tyneside to East London have sparked up, Atsu ran rings around West Ham’s that game, so the club and the fans already know what he can do to opposition defenses.
New Hammers boss David Moyes may be targeting Newcastle players in this window as they are his sides rivals in the battle to stay in the top flight, so weakening one side and strengthening the other is a massive step in survival, but Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez is no idiot, and he knows that West Ham are his rivals for this season so he will be reluctant to sell his best assets to The Hammers.
