West Ham are exploring the possibility of an ambitious move for Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes, according to reports from the Mirror.
The Hammers are reportedly hoping to hold talks with the player’s agent this week in order to see if any sort of possible deal is on the cards.
The defensive central midfielder joined Barcelona last year for £42 million from Valencia, but in 30 appearances for the club, he has failed to win over their expectant fans, and his place in the squad is now under severe threat from former Tottenham midfielder Paulinho – who they recently signed for £36 million from Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande.

The Hammers have brought in a number of new faces this summer, but this has not stopped them from losing their opening two league games. As a result, they are still looking for a few new signings to give them a much-needed confidence boost.
