West Ham are looking at a potential transfer for Arsenal star Olivier Giroud, according to a report from the Mirror.
The 30-year-old Frenchman has reportedly grown frustrated at the lack of game time he is getting at the Emirates, with West Ham ready to offer Giroud an escape route.
French giants Marseille are also among those interested, along with some Italian clubs, but The Hammers are confident that they can match any offers to secure the signature of the prolific forward.
Giroud has fallen to third-choice in the pecking order of Arsenal strikers, with Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck preferred. He has scored 12 goals in his last 11 appearances for The Gunners, ending the season by helping Arsenal win the FA Cup in a 2-1 victory over Chelsea – however he only played the last 12 minutes as a substitute.
The Frenchman cost Arsenal £13 million when he joined from Montpellier back in 2012, and has scored 69 goals in 118 appearances for the North London club.
With Arsene Wenger reportedly eyeing up a big money move for Monaco wonderkid Kylian Mbappe, Giroud’s place in the Arsenal side has come under scrutiny, and he may need to find a way out in order to revive his career and seek regular first-team football.
