Everton have reportedly held talks with West Ham regarding the possibility of signing out of favour stopper Adrian San Miguel, but a deal now seems unlikely to happen.
Ronald Koeman remains interested in recruiting a new number one, but has been impressed by Joel Robles’ recent form and opted not to follow up his initial interest in Adrian this window. Everton will add another goalkeeper to their ranks in the summer, however, whether a deal for Adrian will be revisited is not yet clear.
Koeman recently responded to questions on Everton’s goalkeeping situation, insisting it was unfair on Robles to discuss who is first-choice or back up.
“It’s not fair to speak about who is the No1 and who is the No2,” Koeman, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo , said.
But, of course, Joel is doing well, there is no reason at the moment to change that.
Adrian is expected to leave West Ham on a free transfer in the summer when his current deal expires, despite the Spaniard’s current contract containing a two-year option.

The Hammers extended Adrian’s contract is unlikely and instead they are in the market for a replacement, with England international Joe Hart – currently on loan to Torino – emerging as a potential target.
