Eager to bring in another goalkeeper, West Ham are reportedly interested in signing Roma stopper Lukasz Skorupski, according to Tuttomercatoweb.
West Ham opened the season with Adrian as the settled No.1 goalkeeper at the club, but after a number of high-profile errors coupled with the strong form of Darren Randolph whenever he’s been called upon prompted Slaven Bilic to make the switch and instate the Republic of Ireland international as the club’s new No.1 ‘keeper.
Randolph signed a new four-year contract with the club in the summer to fend off interest from the likes of Everton and Southampton and the former Birmingham man has bided his time and earned his opportunity and taken it with both hands.
Adrian, on the other hand, faces an uncertain future. His contract expires at the end of the season, although the club do have the option to extend his deal for a further two years, and there have been rumours that the club will not stand in the Spaniard’s way if he wishes to return to his homeland this month should an offer come in.
So who’s in line to replace Adrian? The Hammers are reportedly targeting Roma’s Lukasz Skorupski who is currently on loan with fellow Serie A side Empoli.
The 25-year-old has been capped once by Poland, and joined Roma from Gornik Zabrze in 2013 but has only made 14 appearances for the club since arriving.
Skorupski joined Empoli on a two-season loan deal in the summer of 2015 and has been impressive, making 48 appearances and keeping 16 clean sheets. West Ham have had scouts watch the stopper this season and are eager to sign him in the summer.
