Supporters for Chelsea and West Ham will face enhanced security checks, an alcohol ban and a robust policing plan when West Ham host Chelsea in the EFL Cup at the London Stadium on Wednesday night.
Chelsea supporters, who are allocated more than 5,000 tickets for the fourth-round tie, is deemed as a high-risk because of the animosity between both sets of fans.
However, The London Stadium owner, alongside stadium operator, Ls185, had requested a police present at future fixtures following crowd trouble in games against Watford and Middlesbrough.
Since West Ham’s move to their new home in July, they have been nine arrests since their move, and 23 banning orders have been issued.
Chelsea fans who are going to the game should expect an “enhanced body search policy” at the away turnstiles, while alcohol will not be sold in the stadium or outside the London Stadium before or after the game.
