Juventus striker Simone Zaza is open to joining West Ham, according to his agent.
Zaza had agreed to join Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg, but the deal collapsed when they decided to sign German international Mario Gomez.
The Hammers have been linked with Zaza throughout the summer, and are now in the market for another striker after club-record signing Andre Ayew suffered a long-term injury on his competitive debut.
Antonio Zaza – Simone’s agent and father – spoke to CalcioMercato about his son’s options, with Juventus CEO Giuseppe Marotta confirming that the player is up for sale.
He’d like to move to West Ham, their interest is concrete. Let’s see what Juve want to do, there will be news shortly. We are considering a move to London for the future of Simone [Zaza].
The 25-year-old joined Juventus from Sassuolo last summer but faced fierce competition from Paulo Dybala and on-loan Alvaro Morata for a first-team place.
Zaza played under now-Chelsea manager Antonio Conte for Italy at the Euros – most notably assisting Eder’s goal against Sweden, which saw Italy qualify for the knockout stages.
