West Ham United are in a battle with Fiorentina for young Hajduk Split attacker Josip Maganjic, who they want to bring in before the end of the transfer window according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
The 17-year-old striker wants to leave the Croatian club, and his agent is trying to find a potential suitor before the window shuts at the end of August. His currently deal at Hajduk expires at the end of the season, and with his mind seemingly set on leaving, the Split-based club may find it in their best interests to get some money for the highly-rated Maganjic.

Di Marzio believes that Slaven Bilic’s team are the frontrunner for the youngster’s signature due to the nationality of their manager, but Fiorentina are still eager to make him their next in a list of young signings this summer, which includes Poland’s Bartlomiej Dragowski and Dutchman Kevin Diks.
Maganjic has garnered praise largely for his performances for Hajduk Split’s youth side, but made his senior debut for the team towards the end of last season, starting a 3-2 win away to NK Zagreb. He was also on the bench, and remained unused, for their first game of the current campaign, against Cibalia in July. Maganjic has been named in the club’s Europa League squad for the coming season.
