Achraf Lazaar, who has previously been linked with West Ham, has confirmed that French club Marseille are interested in securing his signature and that he would be prepared to leave his current side, Palermo, for a step up to a bigger club.
The Hammers have been looking at potential left-backs to act as cover for Aaron Cresswell due to a lengthy injury he has picked up, and Lazaar was one of the names mentioned due to his versatility.

Speaking to Sportitalia, and quoted by Inside Futbol, the Moroccan said: “Marseille are interested in acquiring my services. It would be an interesting solution.”
Lazaar also admitted he could leave Palermo for a bigger club, saying: “If I had to leave Palermo, it would only be to move a level up.”

With Palermo finishing 16th in Serie A last year, it could be argued that West Ham are indeed a step upwards for Lazaar, but having signed Arthur Masuaku from Olympiakos, it seems unlikely that the 24-year-old will be completing a move to the Olympic Stadium anytime soon.
The defender is also used as a winger occasionally by the Sicilian team and has played 73 times for the club in the league since he moved to them from Serie B side Varese two years ago.
