According to HITC Sport, Leeds United have rejected a £7m bid from West Ham for Charlie Taylor.
It has been widely reported that the young left-back wants to leave Leeds this window, having rejected a new contract offer and handed in a transfer request. The club rejected his transfer request but might still look to cash in on the 22-year-old now to avoid losing him for free next summer.
West Ham are rumoured to be among a number of clubs chasing the wantaway Leeds star. West Brom are leading the chase for Taylor with Manchester United and Liverpool also reportedly monitoring his situation.
A left back was top of West Ham’s priority list because of Aaron Cresswell’s pre-season injury. However, the signing of Arthur Masuaku threw the Charlie Taylor deal into doubt.
Taylor, despite his young age, has plenty of experience and has played well over 100 senior games. Most of these appearances have come with Leeds United but he has also had loan spells at Fleetwood, Inverness, Bradford and York.
The former England under-19 international is regarded as one of the most promising young talents in the football league and he won Leeds’ prestigious Player of the Year award last season.
