Swansea City are thought to be coming round to the idea of selling Andre Ayew to West Ham United in a £20 million deal, according to the Evening Standard. The Hammers have been chasing striking targets all summer, and may have found their man in the form of the Ghanaian front man.
Despite departures of most of their strikeforce so far this summer, including European Championships-winning Eder, Swansea have failed to adequately replace the attackers they’ve lost, and seem set to have their task made even more mountainous with the sale of Ayew to West Ham. However, they may have found his replacement in Fernando Llorente, who seems set to sign for The Swans for Sevilla. This would make Ayew’s move to East London even more likely to be completed.

Even with Ayew signed, West Ham are unlikely to be done making striking signings, with Jonathan Calleri set to arrive from Deportivo Maldonado post-Olympics. The Hammers are also still chasing Carlos Bacca of AC Milan, who could complete a move to the Olympic Stadium before the transfer window closes at the end of the month. Slaven Bilic will also continue to move for left-back targets, with Aaron Cresswell out due to a knee ligament injury until November.
Ayew moved to the Liberty Stadium last summer and became viewed as a surprise package after he netted 12 times in the league, ending the year at The Swans’ top scorer and with his side in 12th place. However, it always seemed a task for them to hold onto the Ghana international this summer, and they will be disappointed to see him departing for London, even with the £20 million fee he is commanding.
