It has been reported today by ESPN and many other sources that Inter Milan wing-back, Davide Santon is in London for a medical ahead of his proposed loan move to West Ham.
The versatile defender is most likely being brought in as cover for Aaron Cresswell who is out for up to four months due to a knee ligament injury in which he suffered in the preseason game against Karlsruher SC.
West Ham have not made many defensive improvements so far this summer transfer window with Havard Nordtveit being the most defensive signing that we have made, and even he is a natural midfielder.
There were many times last season where West Ham lacked some defensive cover and Santon will bring that in spades having played at either fullback position.
