With several West Ham’s stars unable to join the Hammers in America to face the Seattle Sounders and North Carolina RailHawks, it will be the perfect time for West Ham’s talented Academy stars to make a case for the West Ham first team. After all, these same youngsters won the U-21 Premier League Cup last season.
Hammers Dimitri Payet, Angelo Ogbonna, and James Collins are all still competing in the Euro 2016 Cup. Michail Antonio will also be absent to start, with his partner expecting a baby in the next week. West Ham wonder kid Reece Oxford may not have traveled with the Hammers to America, as the 17-year-old will likely play with England’s U-19 squad at their upcoming Euro Cup.
The group of West Ham players making the trip to America includes seasoned veterans like Mark Noble, and exciting new prospects like striker Antonio Martinez and Norwegian winger Martin Samuelsen. Unfortunately, fans will not be able to see Josh Cullen, who will remain in England as he finishes the last recovery from injury. Cullen has ambitions to fight for a place in the first team rather than go out on loan.
Let’s take a look at the top prospects to watch for on West Ham’s American tour.
