Slaven Bilic opts for poetry recital lessons to describe Dimitri Payet’s performances

After the 5-1 FA Cup win over Blackburn Rovers last Sunday, Bilic made another memorable quote like he has done before.

The FA Cup game was one of high standard, better than we have seen in recent weeks. After star performances by Emenike, Antonio, Moses and – not unexpectedly – Dimitri Payet, Bilic claimed the Frenchman was ‘one of the best he has seen’ and is ‘up with Luka Modric’ of the best players he has trained as reported by The Mirror .

The Croatian manager said:

It’s hard to be surprised and I will have to get some poetry lessons to describe his importance to us! It’s not only what he does with the ball and it’s not only me who says give Payet the ball – the players say it as well. The team recognises what he does.

Besides Dimitri’s star display was not the only key performance. Emmanuel Emenike scored a brace on his first West Ham start, having been denied a hat trick for an offside goal and hitting the woodwork not much earlier.

Antonio’s first game as a right back was also largely recognized as a revelation, being very threatening with his runs over the right side of the pitch. He was very close to a goal, but Blackburn goalkeeper Jason Steele wonderfully saved his shot.

Perhaps can Bilic’ newfound poetry interested help West Ham flourish even further.
