Michail Antonio is hopeful he can continue to banish the unwanted label he was given after David Gold retweeted a fake missing person picture that was actually Antonio a few months back.
The £7 million summer signing from Nottingham Forest found the net for the first time on Monday evening in The Hammers 2-1 win over Southampton and he hopes to push on accepting that for the first three months at West Ham he has been missing.
For the first three months I was a missing person. I was sat on the bench, not playing, and stuff like that. I can accept that.
Antonio is hopeful that he can push on when Slaven Bilic’s side travel to Anfield on Saturday saying that ‘hopefully he can keep it going’ and that he needs to keep the momentum going if he is to avoid being known at the missing man.
The forward found the net 15 times last season for Nottingham Forest so he knows how to find the net. It is clear with more confidence he will soon be firing on all cylinders in a Hammer shirt. He believes that he can start to get going now the one goal has came.
Normally with me when I open my account I get a couple more.
