West Ham United captain Mark Noble claims that West Ham’s four deadline day signings can take the East London outfit to the next level.
Speaking on talkSPORT, particularly about former Cameroonian international midfielder Alex Song who joined the Hammers on another season-long loan from Barcelona, the man who possesses the armband was full of praise.
Alex Song will be sidelined for six weeks due to an ankle injury, but his influence will be great when he is playing, according to Noble.
“Alex was great for us last season when he was here on loan. With the added players that we’ve got in now I’m pretty sure he will fit in well.”
It took Alex Song two medicals before West Ham eventually signed the Cameroonian on loan once again, who will now wear the number 4 shirt replacing Kevin Nolan. David Gold, one of the co-chairmen, added:
“When quality players like him become available, sometimes you have to take a risk and that’s what we’ve done. I don’t think it’s a big risk, the injury isn’t life threatening and I’m optimistic.”
Alex Song, in addition to Michail Antonio, Victor Moses and Nikica Jelavic, round off the busiest deadline day for the Irons in recent memory, and as 28-year-old Noble said:
“With the calibre of signings we’ve made it means we are pushing onto the next level.”
Noble bagged a goal in the 3-0 win over Liverpool last weekend, before he was sent off for a light challenge on Danny Ings. The red card appeal was successful, and Noble will be able to play against Newcastle United after the international break.
