Galatasaray are holding firm on striker Burak Yilmaz, with HITC Sport reporting that the Turkish club have now rejected two bids from West Ham for their star forward. The Hammers have been keen on the former Trabzonspor man for some time now, but will have to work even harder if they want to complete his signing before the end of the transfer window.
West Ham had an initial offer of £3.5 million rejected by the club, and went back with an increased offer of £5 million. However, Galatasaray have turned them away once again, determined not to let a player who’s been so important since his move from his last club, Trabzonspor, three years ago.
Since he moved to the Istanbul club in 2012, Yilmaz has grown into being one of the most vital figures in the Gala side, playing 92 league games in the Super Lig. He’s netted 57 times since his €5 million move, with one of those coming already this season.
Were Yilmaz to complete a move to England, The Hammers would be his first club based outside of Turkey, at age 30. He’s proved very successful in his home country, which has also earned him 36 caps (18 goals) for his country, as well as trophies aplenty; 7 with Galatasaray alone.
